ITBP raising day Tree plantation Royal Enfield Ride

Avril Khambatta Thakur, President Himalayan Explorers organized a Royal Enfield tree plantation ride to mark the 57th Raising Day of ITBP deployed in the Anti Naxal Operations.   

The event was flagged off by Dr. Tekchand CVO, Central Frontier in the presence of Dr. Vinay Tyagi D.C./Vet SHQ (BBSR) and Dr. V.L.N.Thakur D.C./Vet SHQ (BGLRU) from the Royal Enfield Showroom at Raipur.

    Both Dr. Tekchand and Dr. Vinay Tyagi were honoured by Mr. Ankit Jain of 6th Gear and Lehendra Gedam of Himalayan Explorers. Five of Himalayan Explorers representatives drove down all the way from Nagpur to Raipur to participate in the event. 

    The convoy of 26 Royal Enfield Riders was led by Mr. Satyendra Sahu, and Ankit Jain, founder of the 6th Gear riding group and also the owner of the Royal Enfield showroom at Raipur.

    The convoy rode in single file from Raipur to SHQ, ITBP, Rajnandgaon, where they were received by Mr. Javed Ali second-in Command SHQ (BGLRU) on the behalf of Mr. Sanjay Kothari, D.I.G., SHQ (BGLRU) who was away to Delhi to attend a meeting called by the election commission as informed by the officers.  

    After the formal introduction with all the riders, sharing of sweets and refreshments and group Photograph, the group carried out the plantation of saplings along with the ITBP officers, subordinate officers and other ranks.

    Mr. Amol Devgade from Himalayan Explorers presented the first sapling to Mr. Javed Ali. After the plantation all the participants along with the ITBP officers had breakfast and were flagged off for the second leg of the drive to Kanhargaon.

    At Kanhargaon the participants had their Lunch and after playing cricket with ITBP personnel and spending approximately 2hours drove back to Raipur.

 Dr. Vinod Thakur, Dy. Commandant/Vet, ITBP who approached us with the proposal of organizing the all Royal Enfield bike ride to celebrate 57th Raising Day of ITBP by Planting 57 saplings in ITBP campus to mark the celebration. It was a memorable experience for the enthusiastic riders to ride for a social cause with the force personnel.
