Avril Khambatta Thakur, President Himalayan Explorers organized the first Royal Enfield “Save the Tiger” rally on 1st May-2012 from Kasturchand Park to Pench Tiger Reserve Madhya Pradesh. The event was supported by “The Hitavada”, leading English daily newspaper from central India and Royal Enfield Nagpur. Avril planned this first Royal Enfield Ride with the message “Save the Tiger” was planned and executed in a short span of 03 days.
The event was Flagged-off by Sh. Shivaji Moghe, the then Social Justice Minister of Maharashtra and Guardian Minister Nagpur. 25 Royal Enfield riders participated in the ride with the mission of spreading the message of Tiger Conservation. The participants had Lunch at Jungle Home (Welcome Group 5 star resort) at Turia Madhya Pradesh. The event was flagged-in by Mr. Saxena, the then Principal Chief Conservation of Forest (Maharashtra) at NH-1 resort, Ramdashpeth Nagpur.
The Ride was led by Dr. Vinod Laxminarayan Thakur, the then Assistant Commandant (Vet), Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force. Sharukh Cassad, Zubin Amroliwala and others work hard to make the event a great success.
