Avril Khambatta Thakur, President Himalayan Explores organized International Tiger Day on 29th July 2018, at ITBP Academy Mussoorie, wherein they invited the guest speakers from Wild Life Institute of India, and head of most of the schools in Dehradun and Mussoorie, and Uttarakhand forest department, to propagate the message of tiger conservation among the ITBP’ ians and the students through their representative.
Chief Guest of the function was Sh. P.S. Papta Inspector General (ITBP), the then Director ITBP Academy, Mussoorie. The speakers were Mr. Dhananjay Mohan, the than PCCF Government of Uttarakhand and presently Director Wild Life Institute of India. Two speakers were from Wild Life Institute of India. The hall was full to its capacity were in more than 50 Gazetted Officers, 50 Subordinate officers and 200 other ranks attended the seminar.
Himalayan Explorers representative gave a power point presentation on the activities being carried out by the NGO in the field of wild life conservation. Many print and electronic media attended the seminar.
Mr.P.S.Papta, Dr. Vinod Laxminarayan Thakur and Dr. Banerjee addressed the press and answered various questions raised on conservation by the press. Himalayan Explorers organized lunch for all the ITBP officers, press and representatives of schools, in the ITBP officers mess.
